Doctors Prescribe Cannabis and Research For Autism
Calming Cannabis Medicine for Joey
Mieko Hester-Perez chose the unconventional cannabis route when she was told her son Joey might not last the year. The greatest threat to her son’s well-being seemed to be the 13 FDA-approved medications
he was prescribed. Side effects from the ineffective, legal drugs included facial ticks, seizures, and liver damage, and Joey was also experiencing dangerous weight loss.
After she gave her fragile, uncommunicative 10-year-old boy cannabis medicine, not only was Joey able to put on weight, but he began to play with his toys and smile. Soon after, he began making regular eye contact, which is always a challenge with autism.
Six years after his six-month-terminal prognosis, Joey was instead living a happy life, thanks to cannabis and his mom, who went on to assist with the development of “Joey’s Strain,” a cannabis variety for autism’s core symptoms.
How You Can Help
Several of these suffering parents are raising money for autism studies. They know they have cannabis to thank for their new connection with their children, and the sense of peace that their families previously lacked. Now able to care for their kids without fear of the next violent episode, they are joining forces to help others find their way to this ancient medicinal herb.

Autism and Whole Plant Cannabis Clinical Study
November 15, 2016
Launching on November 15th, a crowd-funding campaign for recognized clinical study with persons on the autism spectrum.
This ground breaking collaboration is with American and Israeli special needs mothers working together on global mission for families who are choosing medical cannabis as a safe and effective medical treatment.
Abigail Dar an Israeli mom, activist and cannabis advocate who is involved in the clinical data gathering for the Israeli study. Janie Maedler is a policy advocate, CannaKids ASD Consultant, and Board President of Rylie’s Smile Foundation. Mieko Hester-Perez is an International Special Needs Advocate, Co-founder to UF4A.org, Scientific Advisor, and a Board Member on the NORML Women's Alliance.
Medical Cannabis has transformed the lives of Yuval (Abigail's son), Rylie(Janie's Daughter), and Joey (Mieko's son). As well as the lives of other kids with Autism, who are fortunate to have access to this miraculous plant. Unfortunately, this treatment is not accessible to the clear majority of children and adults with Autism around the world.
This study will focus on the effects of medical Cannabis as a "whole plant", and not separated cannabinoids or molecules from the plant. Autism to date remains a misunderstood diagnosis with no child being alike. Due to this factor the proof will be in proper data collection as cannabis plays a key scientific role in this treatment option.
The push for a proper clinical study being funded is now on the horizon, and we need your help.
